So what is a ham radio operator?? to those who aren't in the Amateur radio
service, a ham operator is a little fat man who tinkers in his basement,
with electronics and talks on a radio, similar to CB radio. But unlike CB
radio the Amateur Radio service by Definition is:
"A radiocommunication service for the purpose
of self-training, intercommunication and technical investigations carried
out by amateurs, that is, duly authorized persons interested in radio technique
solely with a personal aim and without pecuniary interest."

Ham radio, by most part a HOBBY but at the same time it is
a service. Ham radio radio here in the United States is licensed by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and
in Canada it is regulated by Industry Canada
(IC).
Now as I stated before, ham radio is a hobby and a hobby is defined as:
"n. pl. hob·bies
An activity or interest pursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged
in primarily for pleasure."
The problem is however, that there is some individuals who take their "activity
or interest pursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged in primarily
for pleasure" why too seriously. Case in point VE7KFM.COM. This site is ran
by amateur radio operators who hate a Canada radio operator name Karol Madera
VE7KFM, and show it both on the radio and on the web. At the same time these
"Ham Radio Operators" are tarnishing the hobby they are trying to protect,
by attacking people on the Internet, Maliciously interfere with ongoing communication,
and attacking people they claim are on his (Karol Madera VE7KFM) side, by
calling and encouraging people to call law enforcement on those people,
they claim is his allies. Calling and encouraging people to call those people,
they claim are Karol Madera VE7KFM allies employer in hopes that their employer
will fire them for their online activities (The Internet) and their activities
on the air (Radio).
Is that was Ham radio is all about?? is that what a HOBBY suppose to be???
Granted a person who violates a radio rule should be reported and the regulating
agency should investigate, but when you continue to complain and complain,
it becomes harassment, again is this what ham radio is all about?? What these
individuals are doing on VE7KFM.COM is degrading the service, by the vindictive
attacks, not only ruining the enjoyment of the hobby for some, but trying
to hurt them economically, by getting them fired from their job.
What REALLY sick, is the fact that these individuals claim they have a
right to do what they are doing. In a "Letter to the Editor" which was about
me they claim they have the right to file grievances and petition the government,
including he FCC and the police. Actually when the Constitution was being
written the whole idea about filing grievances and petition the government
has to do with filing grievances about unjust laws and petition the government
to either change or make laws, not to abuse the system like these individuals
are doing. They also claim they are the "Good Guys", however how many good
guys would try to get someone fired from their job, how many good guys would
themselves violate the law by maliciously interfere with on going communication,
how many good guys would personally attack people, and twist the truth for
their own purposes, just because they don't like someone. Thank about it!!
